i have long silky straight hair which gets compliments but it is so fine that sometimes my ears poke through and it really annoys me... would guys prefer that or a shorter funkier bob style??

A lot of men really like long hair this is true but not necessarily straight . Long shiny hair with some waves or some bouncy curls is definitely an attention getter. This would solve your ear problem and give you a very sexy look!
