Getting my hair to sit flat at the back...?

I got my hair cut the other day so at the back it's pretty short (there's probably about an inch of hair) but today when I tried to style it after washing it the little hairs at the back sat straight out at the back as opposed to flat.

I tried to straighten it but that just seemed to make it worse.

My hair is in a bob, but it's just the back bit at the bottom I can't get!

Can anyone give me any tips to make it sit flat against my neck??

One thing you can do is to try to blow dry it in the direction that you want it to sit. If that doesn't help, you can try to use a really small amount of gel. Just make sure that it does not get crunchy. Good Luck :)

and use hair wax or styling gel to fix the flyaways.

Ah, getting a new hair cut sometimes poses as quite a challenge when it comes down to styling. Here are a few tips I've learned along the way..

On damp hair apply Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. This helps smoothe and condition unruly hair. It's also a favorite non-chemical straightening product. Work that through the hair.

Then take a flat brush and blow dry your hair pulling away from your head. This will help aid you in keeping your hair straight.

Then flat iron your hair. A ceramic flat iron is ideal. Remember to seperate your hair and straighten it in sections. This ensures you won't miss any areas.

You can then finish it off with a spritz of hair spray!

I have the same issue but i find if rub a little bit of hair serym in at the back and comb it, it sits flat

My mum got her hair done like this.

A long term suggestion is to just let it grow,

then when you come to straighten it,

it will stay straight.

However put some straightening balm / sirum on.

Make sure you blow dry your hair and concentrate on that perticular area.

When its dry, apply a small amount of gel.

And if your young like me,

make sure it's not a greasy one.

I was experimenting with my hair today and hair gel did wonders

just slick the hairs on the back of your head with some and it will stay flat in the back :)

clipper your hair on a no3 or 4 from the hair line upwards, to where you want, nobody knows and this will stay flat,and eventually train its self to stay in this position. ive been a hairdresser for 15yrs and its worked everytime, my customers still come back..............hope this helps you.

section the back when wet and dry it flat against your head with the hairdryer using only your fingers. the apply serum and if needed straighten but try nt to and maybe use the straighteners the following day, this works for me
